Main directions of scientific activity

• Studying issues of healthy and safe life activities of university students in philosophical, pedagogical, psychological, sociological literatures, periodicals, the Internet, etc.
• Identifying the problems of safe living of university students and forming a healthy environment in the educational institution.
• Development of the approaches to the theoretical and practical training of students for safe living and health on the basis of subject-subject interaction.
• Researching of the impact mechanisms of physiologically active substances on body systems under conditions of experimental pathological states in laboratory animals.
• Clarifying the development mechanisms of disorders in the bone tissue of laboratory animals under the influence of pathological states or adverse environmental factors.
• The influence of food factors on the microbiocenosis state of animals.
• Modelling of processes of the mediator systems’ functioning in the central nervous system.
• Researching of the dysbiosis and immunodeficiency impacts on the physiological state of the vital body systems.

Most of the department graduates then work in medical and research institutions, schools, colleges, lyceums in Odessa and other cities of Ukraine. For example, in Odesa National Medical University (Odesa), The Filatov institute of eye diseases and tissue therapy National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine (Odesa), A.V. Bogatsky Physical-Chemical Institute National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (Odesa), Bogomoletz Institute of Physiology National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and so on. The scientists have trained at the department (V.V. Turkin, I.V. Timofeiev, V.E. Lopantsev, Ie.V. Topolnyk, O.O. Zakharchenko, S.O. Silantiev) were invited to internships, and then to permanent work in foreign institutes and universities (Québec-Université Laval (Canada), Barrow Neurological Institute (USA), London Institute of Neurology (Great Britain), Washington University (USA) and other). Of course, the department graduates currently work in schools, in medical laboratories of various activity fields, in pharmacy management institutions.
