Graduated from the Biological Faculty of I.I. Mechnikov State University of Odesa in 1980. After graduating from the university, he worked for about 10 years at the Zoological Museum, and since 1990 - at the Department of Zoology of ONU. In 1995, he defended his candidate's thesis in the specialized council at T.Shevchenko National University of Kyiv; in 2004 he was awarded the academic title of associate professor of the Department of zoology. For more than 20 years, a member of the jury of the II stage of the All-Ukrainian competitions-defenses of scientific research works of students — members of the National Center "Small Academy of Sciences of Ukraine". Member of the public organization "O. O. Brauner Museum Fund" (since 1991) and editor-in-chief of the magazine "News of the O. O. Brauner Museum Fund".
The author of more than 80 scientific, methodical, scientific and pedagogical publications, 14 educational and methodical publications, 1 study guide, articles in specialized publications of Ukraine. Expert in an international project EU -ТACIS Project WW/SCRE1/No1 - Lower Danube Lakes, Ukraine
